The Book Designer recently shared a post about making and selling your own photos. The article goes over the camera you can use (your smartphone is often good enough), processing your images, and then selling photos on your own site or going through an agency. And if you want to learn more, there are many tutorials (video and written) available online.
Tangentially related, FujiFilm sells something called Instax Cameras, which is like a fancy polaroid camera, where you take and print the picture. They offer multiple sizes and formats.
