Today’s post is another roundup of resources for authors during these crazy times. Since we’re all physically distancing, it’s a good time to step up your digital content game.
What does that mean? The Book Designer’s post about it being a wide virtual world is a good start. There are all kinds of ways to chat online, connect with readers, and go live. Digital also includes podcasts, which in many niches are doing really well right now, according to Acast on Medium (anecdotally, I Know Dino has seen an increase in listeners!)
If you’re an author with a team (maybe that means you work with people to help with your social content, scheduling, etc.), The Podcast Host has tips on using podcasting to stay connected with your staff. You can keep it simple, and keep people in engaged.
And last, now seems like a good opportunity to have an online event. That could mean hosting a webinar, an online masterclass, or a full blown event with multiple interviewees.
Let me know in the comments if you end up doing any of these things, and share how well it worked out for you!
P.S.: Try not to get burned out on video calls. If you’re feeling stressed or anxious, check out Hello Alice’s “The Essential Mental Health Resources for the COVID-19 Outbreak.” There’s also the story of the man who built an A.I. clone to take his Zoom calls for him.
